The mission of the Shenango Valley Animal Shelter is to provide a safe, clean, and humane environment for homeless dogs and cats that are running at large. As a stray-based shelter, we are committed to caring for these animals until they can be placed into permanent, responsible, and loving homes.
In addition to sheltering and adoption services, we work to protect public health and safety by responding to stray, injured, sick, or potentially dangerous animals. We enforce applicable state and local dog laws within our authority, including laws related to dogs running at large, rabies vaccination compliance, dog licensing, and dog bites. We strive to reduce pet overpopulation through education, outreach, and community partnerships, promoting responsible pet ownership and humane population control methods.
The Shenango Valley Animal Shelter is dedicated to serving our community with prompt, courteous, and professional service, while ensuring the welfare of animals and the safety of the public we serve.
